KFW PATROLLERS
Experience your area, get to know the district, meet and greet the local folks – landowners, farm workers, tenants, farmers, police members, and business owners. Become a part of the community and play an active role in preventing crime before it happens.
As a “patroller” you will no longer be a “spectator” – you will be a part of the solution.
You and your partner will simply choose an area, or various roads, or places to visit within our Sector 2 Rural area. Our vehicles are branded, and, by just being visible, you are already, indirectly, carrying out visible community policing. The criminal element tends to move on to other areas, when they observe signs of “community preparedness”. Areas without strong Neighbourhood and Farm Watches, experience higher levels of crime.
You will not be expected to put your life at risk. If you see a problem, or a potential problem, you simply report it. If you need assistance, there are always KFW members monitoring the radio or the KFW whatsapp Patrollers Group to support or advise you.
OUR SECTOR – PROTECTED
Our sector totals 215 square kilometres and includes farms and properties along the R312, (between the R304 and R44), the R44 from the R312 up till the Muldersvlei Road, the R304 from the R312 as far as the R101. Also included is the Suid Agter Paarl Road, Simonsvlei Road, the R101 and a section of the Klapmuts Simondium Road, among others.
We need all of our members and indeed everyone within the community to be vigilant at all times. By having scheduled and rostered patrol lists, we are able to ensure an effective contribution to this initiative.
